On April 27, Kentucky Fried Chicken will be offering free samples of its new healthier product “Kentucky Grilled Chicken.” The nutrition stats on the new products are definitely an improvement.

According to their website, the calorie range of the grilled chicken pieces is 70 to 180 calories and four to nine grams of fat. The Original Recipe chicken products have between 110 and 370 calories and 7 to 21 grams of fat, per piece. The grilled chicken is also improved in terms of its sodium content, with grilled pieces containing from 160 to 440 milligrams of sodium per piece, compared to 290 to 1,050 milligrams of sodium in the Original Recipe chicken.

I haven’t tried the grilled chicken yet, but, I would imagine it will at least be well seasoned, given KFC’s track record with the fried stuff. Here’s a link to a taste test if you want to read about it before going out and testing it yourself.
